INDUSTRIAL CULTURAL EVENTS AS A FACTOR IN TOURIST ATTRACTIVENESS: EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE FOR UKRAINE

The article examines the phenomenon of industrial cultural events as a component of event and industrial tourism in the context of post-industrial territory transformation. The subject of the study is industrial festivals as a tool for shaping the tourist attractiveness of the industrial environment. The purpose of the work is to identify the role of industrial festivals in the processes of popularizing industrial heritage and forming a positive tourist image of industrial regions, using the example of Kryvyi Rih and taking into account foreign experience (Germany, Poland). The methodological basis of the study consists of general scientific and special methods of socio-geographic research, in particular the analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, the comparative-geographic method, elements of event analysis, case studies, and the participant observation method. The results of the study indicate that industrial festivals perform a multifunctional role, combining cultural, tourist, image-making, and socio-communicative effects. It has been established that in the countries of Western and Central Europe, industrial events are integrated into networked tourist products and industrial heritage routes, ensuring a significant scale of attendance and sustainable recognition of regions. In Kryvyi Rih, the industrial festival is primarily of a local nature; however, it has the potential for post- war recovery and further development. The scope of application of the results covers the practice of developing industrial and event tourism, strategic planning for the revitalization of industrial heritage, as well as the activities of local government bodies, tourist organizations, and cultural institutions in the industrial regions of Ukraine. The conclusions are that industrial festivals are an effective tool for forming the tourist attractiveness of the industrial environment and actualizing the industrial identity of territories. The feasibility of adapting European models of organizing industrial events to the conditions of Ukrainian industrial cities, taking into account the local context, resource potential, and strategic goals of regional development, has been proven.
